Why Donate to Providence?
Because you want to help see the mission of Providence fulfilled in nurturing leaders with strong minds and passionate hearts who are going to live for the glory of God.
13 years ago, Providence was started out of a deep burden for our city and our country. Within our city, we saw lots of nonprofit organizations aiming to take care of those who lost their way, with varying success or failure, but almost none who were investing in developing leaders and a positive vision for our city. What is more, we saw that churches were doing a pretty poor job of nurturing Christ-centered discipleship and a vision for leadership in all of life.
13 years later, the current situation within our city and country is even more stark with less vision and greater need. In this vacuum, Providence is transformative in what we are doing. The direction of any city, state, or country is shaped by its leaders. One of the questions that philanthropic organizations that want to invest in the future of our community need to ask at some level is: what is going to build the sort of leaders that are needed to make Shreveport-Bossier into the sort of place we long for it to become?
Providence is such an organization.
Providence does not depend on donations for yearly operations, as tuition covers our yearly operating expenses. Every year, apart from donations, Providence has operated in the black (with a surplus). However, for building projects, Providence does depend on donations. Over the past 7 years, we have built four buildings. In 2019, we hope to begin construction on our final major building: our High School building. This building will cost $12-14 Million, and we hope to raise $5 Million over the next two years.
